About us

Nestled in the hills of south Franklin, Southern Hills Church of Christ is a vibrant family of approximately 200 members, faithfully gathering in our current home for more than 20 years. We’re a place of growth, excitement, and heartfelt connection, where we continually discover fresh ways to share the gospel with those seeking God’s truth.Our story began on January 14, 1986, when three visionary families came together to explore the dream of establishing a new congregation in this thriving community.

By the first Sunday night in June, a growing group of families had assembled at the First Tennessee Bank building on Main Street for their initial gatherings.

Momentum built quickly: By September 7, 1986, all services were held there, and on November 1, 1987, we purchased land along Goose Creek By-Pass. With ingenuity and faith, we transformed the property’s garage into our first worship space, hosting our inaugural Sunday service on November 29, 1987.

In November 1993, we dedicated our current auditorium and Bible class facilities, with the first worship service held on November 7—a milestone that expanded our capacity for worship and learning.

Today, our two-story educational wing provides essential classrooms to nurture our robust Bible study programs, modern administrative offices for our dedicated ministers and staff, and ample space for the joyful energy of our Sunshine Day School.
